Frin Goakes New Body Plan - Day 6 and 7 - 4Ibs weight loss!
Here is the latest update from Frin Goakes. Congratulations! 4Ibs weight loss in 6 days! Tuesday (Day 6) Feeling good and active also trying to be extra good as weigh in tomorrow! Had the lovely rise and shine muesli with the lovely fruit topping, I really enjoy the muesli. I knew I wasn't going to be home until late tonight so I cooked my rice for my evening meal and took the rice and the Thai Green Curry to work and cooked the curry later in the microwave and added the rice. The curry is fantastic, I think it might be one of my favourite dinners - yum yum. Lunch was French Bean Omelette and Nutty Rice, it was really tasty and filling. I'm finding it tricky trying to staff off caffeine, I must remember to pop some decaffeinated and fruit tea bags in my handbag. Wednesday (Day 7) Weigh in day! I hopped on the scales this morning and couldn't believe my weight. I had to check the scales weren't faulty. I have managed to loose 4lbs after 6 days of been on the plan. My new weigh in is 11.07 ! I am amazed. I know I'm feeling better and less bloated but I was worried because I had to deviate away from the plan over the weekend this might have had a negative affect on my weigh in. It really hasn't felt like I've been on a diet - I've just been eating three healthy meals a day and it feels like I'm eating more food than normal. I had the last of my muesli this morning. I might have been measuring it incorrectly as I had a rather large bowl of cereal - but I'm not complaining. As I had arrived home late last night I forgot to defrost my final lunch and dinner from my week 1 menu, but I was saved from panic defrosting when I received my helpful text reminding me that my delivery would be with me within the hour. How perfect. I get my deliveries sent to work and I find that they ignore the instructions on the box informing them which way to keep the box, I'm going to have to leave instructions next week at reception. Lunch today was Salad Nicoise, it was lovely -even my work colleagues have started to take an interest in my food, they thought it looked lovely also. I didn't get home from work again until late, dinner tonight was Cashew Nut Paella - it was so easy cook and tasty to eat. At 10pm I'm feeling content and full. Its normally around this time I start to raid the cupboards. For the last few nights I have also found I am sleeping better. I must remember to go shopping and buy some more lemons! |
Frin Goakes first weekend on the New Body Plan! (day 3-5)
Friday & the weekend Well, I had a very mixed weekend with the plan due to planned events.... some very big and challenging events and I knew sticking to the plan might prove tough especially as it involves the army! Started the day with the really tasty rise & shine muesli, really enjoyed the topping that went with it. I had to take a new member of staff out for lunch so deviated away from the plan, but had poached salmon and salad. From work I was straight up to my local Territorial Army unit - yep you heard me correctly! I have decided to join the TA and this weekend was my army selection weekend. As I had had my main meal at lunch time I ate my lunch of Cashew Nut Slice and Coleslaw on the way to the selection centre - it was really handy having something healthy & convenient to eat. We didnt get to go to bed until midnight and I do have to confess by that time I was hungry, but then it could have been due to thirst also. Saturday was a 5.30am start! I had to deviate away from the plan today, but tried to eat healthily and had a protein breakfast, come lunch after a mornings worth of physical training - including my fastest run time of 1.5 miles in 12.31 minutes, carrying jerry cans and lifting 40kg weights I was starving. As I was in an army barracks I had to eat from the food that was available and had fish and potatoes. By the time we left the barracks at 6pm I was very hungry. Luckily rather than heading for the vending machines I had taken my marrakech flapjack with me and ate that on the way home. When I got home, instead of heading to KFC or Macdonands which was the plan of my colleagues I headed home and had Chicken Cacciatore - again it was nice knowing I had something healthy and tasty waiting for me at home which would be cooked within 10 minutes. Sunday I was back on the plan and really enjoyed three lovely meals of muesli, potage petis pois and pasta cipriani served with spelt spaghetti I mixed the meals up slightly - hope that is ok with the owners of my food!!! Again it was great knowing I had three great meals to eat, especially as I had no intention of leaving the house to go shopping after the events of the previous day. R&R were definitely required. Monday Work up feeling refreshed & hoping that deviating from the plan on Saturday wont have too much of an impact on the scales come Wednesday! Stuck to the plan all day, again I jumped a day and had the day 6 plan rather than day 5's food. This was because I was going out straight from work and needed something I could pop in the microwave. So today enjoyed Muesli, French Bean Omelette & Nutty Rice and Aduki Bolognese. Guess and I hope that is the convenience of the plan - you can adapt it to what works best for you that day. In the evening went to the gym and had a good work out. |
Frin Goakes New Body Plan - Day 1 and Day 2
Here we have the fist couple of diary entrys from our brave new customer Catherine (Frin) Goakes... Day 1 My hamper arrived just before lunch, I was fortunate enough to be working at home today so I cracked the hamper open and sorted the food between what needed to be placed in the fridge and the freezer. All the food looks and sounds really interesting and yummy! I had a personal training session at the gym at lunch time so after that as I was feeling energized and as I had nothing in the fridge ( a common theme in my flat) I decided to start the plan there and then. Lunch was called - Polygardoo... Ive never heard of this before, it said on the packet it could be eaten chilled or hot. I tried a bit of it cold and decided to heat it up. It was really tasty and did the trick after my work out. I felt full all afternoon, at about 6.30 I decided it was dinner time - dinner was Turkey Herb Meatballs. I really enjoyed it and could probably eat it every day!! - yum yum. I have just realized I have two bottles of wine chilling in the fridge... wonder if I can resist them for the whole month that I am on the plan... Mmm this could be more of a challenge than I thought! Day one.. so far so good. Day 2 Had a really bad nights sleep last night and wasnt feeling that hungry. As I had been proactive and stocked up on lemons last night I made myself a refreshing drink - lemon and hot water, apparently this is meant to assist weight loss?! thought it was quite nice and refreshing - just had to be careful not to burn my mouth. Really enjoyed the strudel compote. The morning flew past at work and didnt have time for lunch until 2pm. Lunch today was salad tuna fusilli, there seemed to be loads of it but it was nice and full of peppers, tuna and the occasional olive. Ive been feeling a bit ill all day as it feels like I am trying to fight the flu but went for a quick run of 1.5miles to perk myself up and enjoyed dinner which was vegetable masala. I dont have a microwave so didnt think I would be able to cook the poppadoms but I realised if I popped them in the oven and kept my eye on them they seemed to rise and tasted nice - result!!! Had a few hunger pangs this evening but I think that is because I worked late and am feeling a bit stressed - proof that I am an emotional eater. To keep myself busy I found a new lease of life for tidying! and packing for my night away tomorrow - (Saturday I have my fitness test for the British Army)!! Feeling very productive and desperately in need of my bed and a good nights sleep.

Samantha's New Body Plan - End of Two Week Plan!
Today is my last day of the full two weeks plan and I have lost a total of 8 and 1/2 pounds! I am so pleased that I have lost weight and I don't even feel like I have been on a diet. Obviously I was not eating like my usual self as I was out of control but I was still eating delicious meals! I have done many a diet - cabbage soup, master cleanse, Atkins etc and all of them made me really suffer (especially the master cleanse! Still can't believe I managed to do that - google it!) This has honestly been really easy to follow. I of course was tempted to cheat quite a lot but the fact that I had the food made and ready meant I knew what i was going to have and it was worth waiting for. Doing this blog and knowing that I had to do before and after pictures was a MASSIVE incentive! If I was about to reach for those crisps I knew that if I didn't lose any weight on the blog I would feel like I'd failed. Start Weight Weight: 11.4 stone Waist: 82cm Hips: 99cm Bust: 102cm Weight after Two weeks of New Body Plan Weight: 10.10 stone Waist: 79cm Hips: 98cm Bust: 100cm I still have a bit of a way to go as I want to get back down to my happy healthy 9.7 stone. A long way to go indeed! I have decided to do the MY Food dinner only option. Basically this is just the dinner part of the New Body plan. I think I should be good on this plan as I am fine during the day and at work - its only when I get home the mammoth eating session begins! I'm also going to order a snack pack each week as I am going to be going to the gym loads and running in the mornings. I will keep you all updated on my progress each week and I am aiming to be 9.7 stone by New years eve! Lets see if I cando it!
Samantha's New Body Plan Days 11 and 12 - Trip to Brighton.
Hello to all you lovely MY Food fans! This weekend was the ultimate test for any diet plan - a trip away with the girls! I went to Brighton with some friends. The first night was ok - we stayed in and had dinner at my friends house we were staying at - they all made a curry and I had my Pasta Arrabbiata. The curry did smell very lovely but we all ate the same amount of food in the same bowls so I didn't feel that left out. The following morning we had breakfast together - they all had toast and I had my flapjack - my breakfast actually seemed much yummier and more exciting than their boring toast! We then all hit the town for some shopping and as I have now lost 6 pounds I loved trying on all the clothes and everything looked so much better on me. I had the excited shopping feeling again unlike my usual shopping emotional roller coaster of frustration and sadness! I treated myself to a vintage leather jacket from a cute little thrift store called 'Snoopers Paradise' - and that's what it was! Then came the night out! I decided I was going to have a few drinks as I am away on a mini holiday. I stuck to vodka, lime and soda as this has the least calories and had just lime and soda water between drinks. So I ended up having four vodkas in the end. I pretty much burned that all off as we were dancing all night! So it was actually quite easy to follow in the end but the only down side is you do feel a bit awkward having to explain what you're doing but these are my very close friends so they were very good about it. The Moroccan Tagine was nice and hearty for a Sunday - although again my parents made a roast dinner and the smell was wafting through the house. Maybe I will suggest a MY Food roast dinner type meal to have on days like this. I'm sure it can be done!
Samantha's New Body plan - Day 10 - Herbal teas!
Today I thought I would go into a bit more detail about the extra things I have been doing whilst on the plan to aid my weight loss and detox process. Tea I have been drinking LOADS of herbal teas to flush me out - but mainly just to keep myself busy and stop those hobnob cravings! I have found it makes it more fun and more like a treat if you have a range of different teas to choose from as you then have lots of different flavours to treat yourself to. Here is my top five: Green tea - a well known anti oxidant. It also speeds up your metabolism. Lemon and ginger - I love this infusion. Zingy and fresh. Have it in the mornings to wake yourself up. Fennel - stops cravings. Peppermint - aids digestion. Camomile - relaxing at bedtime. Drink up! Body brushing. This stimulates your circulation thus eliminates toxins! Brush in long strokes always toward the direction of your heart. I concentrate on the thigh and hip area. Ministry Of sound workout-DVD! Just AMAZING! Slendertone Flex. I wear this every morning whilst I'm getting ready. You see a big difference in just two weeks! Late night pampering Sessions. I love snacking in the evenings and lazing around in front of the TV - so I now spend the evening pampering myself - manicures, pedicures, face-masks, long baths etc. It really takes your mind off snaking.
Samantha's New Body Plan - Day 9
Hey all, I have had a really good day today. Just got back from a massive workout at the gym and am now going to go up to my room for a pampering sesh! I think that because I have lost weight and am losing more I feel much better about myself and therefore want to make myself look even nicer! This food plan has given me SO much energy - maybe because of all of the healthy organic ingredients and the fact I am now eating more than my five a day as apposed to my usual one bit of fruit or veg a day. Last night I had Pizza. No I wasn't cheating it was one of my New Body plan meals! Take a look at the picture below (a bit of outer crust broke of as my baking tray is really old!).... It was so nice to have pizza and not feel guilty about it but instead feel GOOD that I have just eaten something healthy! Another thing I must mention here is the amount of colours I have been eating! My food has never looked so colourful! Its far more exciting my usual meals are very white/beige (I'm a carb fiend!) so this makes such a nice change.
Samantha's New Body Plan Day 8 - Weigh in and hamper opening!
Hello Everyone Today is the second weigh in day and what an amazing result. I have lost 4Ibs in one week. I was really tempted by the Halloween sweeties last night... and I had two pumpkin chocolates - probably just about 50 calories but still it was very naughty of me as the sugar made me crave more! Oh well back on track today... Starting Weight: 11.4 stone Week 1 Weight: 11.0 stone Today I have received my new hamper for the week. This is how it looks when it arrives from the courier... ..and this is how it looks when opened.. Then you just pop it all in fridge, freezer or cupboard according to storage instructions on your menu (which comes in the hamper) and you are set for the week! |
Samantha's New Body Plan Day 7 - Half way mark!
Good evening to all you lovely MY Food Blog readers. Today I reached day 7. The half way mark! People have noticed a change already and I have had lots of positive comments about how I look. This is giving me a huge incentive to continue and stick to it. From just one week of eating only healthy, organic food my skin looks so much clearer and brighter. I also think the fact I have not been eating wheat, dairy and very little salt means that my stomach is so much flatter as I am not bloating. Tomorrow I will be doing my one week weigh in and I know its going to be a good result. Tonight's dinner was the delicious Lasagna malanzana! I added a big salad on the side as I love a bit of crunch with my lasagna. HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!! I am so tempted by the sweeties........
